Man City make contact to sign £100m star

da stake casino: The Citizens have already stolen the headlines once this year, welcoming Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth in a deal worth over £60m. The impressive winger hasn’t taken long to make his mark either, having scored and assisted on his debut in a 9-1 mauling of Exeter City in the FA Cup.

Guardiola will hope that performance is a sign of things to come from his latest attacking addition, who has already received plenty of praise from the Spaniard.

The Man City boss told reporters: “He uses both feet unbelievably. He can play as a striker too with his pace, he knows the Premier League, many clubs wanted him but he decided to join us. All I can say is thank you to him and we’re pleased for the next years.

“[For] a long time we’ve followed him. And in the end the situation we have with the wingers, we have three specific players with Oscar [Bobb], Savinho and Jeremy [Doku], we need to reinforce for the next years, which is why the Club made the gesture to take him.

“He’s the perfect age, the best years are to come, all the clubs try to bring in young players but he will make his career and best years here.”

It could also be a sign of things to come in the transfer market for Man City, who could beat their Premier League rivals to another impressive talent.

According to TeamTalk, Man City have now made contact to sign Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest in what would deal arch-rivals Man United a major blow when the summer transfer window arrives. Sources claim that City are set to make a big push to prise the player away from the City Ground.

£100m Anderson would complete new-look Man City

Whilst it may seem like Man City are ready to go all guns blazing in the Premier League title race, this is actually a side still in a transition that Anderson could help complete.

The Citizens have quietly been adjusting to a new-found physicality in the Premier League, which has been led by league leaders Arsenal. Semenyo is a clear sign of that. He’s not the intricate winger that Guardiola once signed in Jack Grealish. He’s a powerful, goalscoring threat.

However, the biggest sign that Man City are willing to change their ways in pursuit of further glory is their admiration for Anderson. The midfield star, who could cost as much as a £100m this summer, is a wanted man across the Premier League and for very good reason.

One look at the numbers and it’s easy to see why England boss Thomas Tuchel dubbed Anderson a “complete” midfielder earlier this year.

Whilst Bernardo Silva is beginning to become a weakness in a physical league, Anderson has simply thrived – recovering possession just over 100 times more than the Man City star so far this season.
